Synthesis & Sample Preparation

SPEX SamplePrep 8000M Mixer/Mill

The SPEX SamplePrep8000 Mixer/Mills is a compact laboratory mill capable of pulverizing samples in the 10-gram range.  It functions as shaker mills or high-energy ball mills, and shakes containers back and forth approximately 1080 cycles per minute. The mill is capable of reducing hard, brittle samples to analytical fineness, blending powders, making emulsions, and performing mechanical alloying.

SPEX SamplePrep3600 Press

The 3600 X-Press is a 35-ton (31.8 metric ton) hydraulic laboratory press for preparation of sample pellets for XRF, IR and other analytical techniques. It offers automated press operation and programmable parameters includingpressure, dwell time and release time.

LECO SS1000 Grinder/Polisher

The Spectrum System 1000 is an 8-inch (200 mm) grinder/polisher with user-selectable rotational speed.  It offers dual 8-inch wheels which are drove by a 0.5 HP (373 W) motor simultaneously.  Our SS 1000 is also equipped with a head assembly for semi-automated operation.

LECO VC-50 Diamond Saw

The LECO VC-50 is for precise sectioning of ceramics, minerals, metals, and electronic components. It creates section samples up to 1.5 inches (38 mm) in diameter, and can maintain constant speeds (up to 500 RPM) under various load conditions.
